Empowering Patients to Access, Track, and Engage With Their Health Information
SAN FRANCISCO — December 10, 2025 — PicnicHealth, a health technology company dedicated to advancing the next generation of non-interventional research and empowering patients with their own health data, today announced the launch of its new mobile patient app, now available in the App Store and on Google Play. The app extends the company’s web-based app, offering patients new flexibility to access, track, and engage with their health information directly from their mobile devices.
The release of the mobile app comes as patients continue to seek better tools to manage fragmented healthcare data. PicnicHealth conducted research with Researchscape International and found that 71% of U.S. adults want more organized access to their medical records. PicnicHealth’s app addresses this gap by giving patients a consolidated, chronological view of their complete medical history—all in one secure place.
Enhancing Patient Access and Engagement
PicnicHealth’s patient app enables patients to both access their complete medical histories and to participate in relevant non-interventional research studies. The new mobile version mirrors the features of PicnicHealth’s existing web app while adding real-time push notifications, enabling patients to receive alerts when new medical records are added or when research study activities—such as surveys or updates—are available. Patients enrolled in research studies through PicnicHealth will be invited to download the app and use it to stay informed and engaged throughout their participation.
“Patients increasingly expect the same convenience and immediacy in healthcare that they experience in other parts of their lives,” said Stuart Altman, chief product officer, PicnicHealth. “By putting their complete health journey in their pocket, the mobile app helps patients stay connected to their care and seamlessly participate in research that can advance medical understanding.”
More Complete and Robust Non-Interventional Study Data
For life sciences partners and clinical researchers, the mobile app offers a more responsive and engaged patient experience—an essential factor in generating richer, more longitudinal real-world insights. By giving patients an intuitive and accessible way to view their health data and stay up-to-date on study activities, PicnicHealth aims to improve data completeness, reduce drop-off rates, and strengthen the quality of evidence available to sponsors.
“Engaged patients lead to better data, and better data drives better research,” said Katie Knapp, product lead, PicnicHealth. “The mobile app is another step toward ensuring that patient participation in research is both effortless and meaningful.”
